REVIEW:
Each student had to write out the QUESTIONS an ADVERB answers.

We also took time to review all the different combinations that make up our weekly combo of 3. See all we have accomplished so far??

 THIS WEEKS COMBO OF 3:
SENTENCE STRUCTURE: Chart G Compound A compound sentence consists of at least two independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction.
Coordinating Conjunctions- FANBOY
PURPOSE: Interrogative- asks a question
PATTERN: S-Vt-DO, Pattern is determined by the subject + verb or verb phrase and every sentence must contain at least 1 pattern. In a Subject-Verb Transitive pattern, the verb transfers the action of the verb to a noun or pronoun (direct object) that follows it. To find the direct object, ask “(Subj.)(Verb) who or what?” (NEXT WEEK S-Vl-PN)

NEW GRAMMAR: Here are the new concepts we covered today.
P.O.S: Prepositions (Pr) Chart J
1.A preposition relates a noun or pronoun to another word.
The preposition, its object, and the modifiers between them create a “prepositional phrase”.
Prepositions are always followed by a noun, which is called the “object of the preposition”. (OP)
If it modifies a verb- then the Prep. Phrase is adverbial, meaning it acts as a verb. (How? When? Where? Why? How often? How much? To what extent? Under what condition?)
If it modifies a noun-then the Prep.Phrase is adjectival, the phrase acts as an adjective. (what kind, how many, which? Whose?)
1. She sat between her friends. (((Sat where? between her friends – adverbial)))
2. I bought the dress with the blue stripes. (((Which dress?- adjectival)))
3. See how the prepositional phrase is added on a diagram?

3. We reminisced the cycle we focused on Prepositions. We sang the song and did the dance. Memorizing these prepositions would be wise! Check out the song here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPHICvMKxXk

4. I read the little snippet and the students identified each Pr and OP

MATH
We started off with holding numbers in our head. We then had a few sweeties come up and lead out our mental math. We ended our time with drilling our tables! WTG girls!
