Because Valentines Day is
on Wednesday, I decided
to go with a Valentines
theme. 💙💚💛💜
EEL
REVIEW:
The kids came in and wrote out the NOUN chart. We
talked a bit about noun usages and pronouns.
THEN we spent the rest of the EEL time plugging in
some nouns into our Valentine sentences. I hope seeing all the different combos up on the board offered these girls a bigger picture.
SENTENCE STRUCTURE
Cx: has an independent clause and
a subordinate clause.
We reviewed this chart again to
get in our minds what is what.
PURPOSE:
Declarative:
What do we know about the Declarative purpose?

Declarative = makes a statement or declares something

Period at the end of the sentence.
NEW GRAMMAR:
PATTERN: S-Vt-DO-OCN
and S-Vt-DO-OCA
The last two sentence patterns were introduced today. In order to understand these patterns, we had to look back at two parts of speech.
MATH
We enjoyed ourselves with the I <3 Candy game.
The kiddos did great with the sweet challenge. We ended with GRAPHING our
sweet results.

REVIEW: We took time to listen to each other’s paper.
NEW GRAMMAR: It was time to talk through UNIT 7
INVENTIVE

This
is a TWO week project. Week 1 we will think of topics and bring them to a
paragraph, THEN we will add an intro and conclusion during Week 2.
